The ORNO OR-WE-503 is a single-phase electronic energy meter that measures consumption in kWh. An electronic circuit generates pulses proportional to current flow and applied voltage; these pulses are converted to energy values and shown on a backlit 5+1 digit LCD display. Phase energy consumption is signalled by a flashing LED. The meter includes an erasable additional indicator and a pulse output for connection to external metering or monitoring equipment.
