Schneider A9Y82740 Acti9 iC40 Vigi Add-On RCD 3P+N 40A 30mA Type AC

The Schneider Electric A9Y82740 is an Acti9 Vigi iC40 add-on residual current device (RCD) block, configured as 3P + N, 40 A rated current, 30 mA sensitivity, Type AC. It clips onto a compatible Acti9 iC40 circuit breaker to add earth-leakage protection downstream, with the neutral pole positioned on the left and instantaneous tripping. The unit is voltage-independent (functions without auxiliary supply) and is rated 400 V AC at 50/60 Hz, with a 440 V AC rated insulation voltage and 4 kV impulse withstand. A local fault indicator signals the trip status on the front face.

Applications

Designed for final distribution boards in residential, commercial and light-industrial installations where downstream earth-leakage protection must be added to an existing Acti9 iC40 miniature circuit breaker. Suitable for three-phase plus neutral circuits up to 40 A on AC networks, providing protection against sinusoidal AC residual currents in line with EN/IEC 61009-2-1. Typical uses include lighting and power sub-distribution, small motor circuits, HVAC feeders and general purpose three-phase loads. Type AC is not suitable for circuits containing DC components or pulsating DC fault currents - use Type A or higher where electronic loads (variable speed drives, inverters, switched-mode power supplies) are present.
